The 3rd annual Trunk or Treat at Cullman Regional Thursday was a HUGE success.
The official count of attendees through the actual gated Trunk or Treat area was 4,100.
That number does NOT include the numerous families who skipped the record-setting waiting line and decided to go straight to the bounce houses and food tents.
Cullman Regional gave out over 6,000 hot free dogs plus countless numbers of cold beverages. By any measure, this was a record number of attendees.
If you were unable to attend this epic event, you can view a descriptive and entertaining walk through of the entire event in the video below:
Lindsey Dossey, the Director of Marketing and Communications for Cullman Regional had this to say about the event this morning:
“We love hosting our community on our campus for a fun, family event. We always have people from the community thank us throughout the Trunk or Treat but seeing the faces of the kids when they see the trunks is all the thanks we need.
This event would not be possible without incredible teamwork from our hospital team. We had every department represented and even some physician offices.
The trunks seem to get more elaborate each year. Now we just have to figure out how to make it even bigger and better for next year.
This event is an incredible way to both strengthen our hospital as a team while also having fun with the community. AND the creativity of our departments – WOW! They always amaze me!”
According Cullman Regional Foundation Director Maria Sanford, 1,500+ counted attendees had entered the Cullman Regional Trunk or Treat as of 5:30 pm Thursday. The event ran well past it’s scheduled 7:00 pm closing time.
There was a never before seen 360 degree circle of humanity waiting in undoubtedly the longest line in the history of Cullman Regional to get inside.
We estimated approximately 6,000+ people are on the grounds at 5:30 pm.
The line moved along briskly which was good news:
Meredith Easterwood was the Director of this event for Cullman Regional.
We asked her how many pieces of candy would be given out. While she did not have an exact number, but she did say the hospital had purchased four wholesale pallets worth of confections. That would put the count over at least 10,000 separate items.
The wait in line was worth it. The Trunks themselves were spectacular with much planning, design and execution involved in their presentation.
There was 6 different bounce houses plus plenty of free foods and beverages.
‘Epic’ is an often over used word. In the case of this gathering, it applies perfectly.
